fake sustainability(ambivalence)
I’ve always been interested in aspect of fake sustainablity.
the question about ‘are the brands that deal with sustainability really meaningful?’
actually when we do our work about sustainability and we don't really think about it many times.
I could think of it by looking at my friends around and me.
We casually buy a new sketchbook at the art shop and drink coffee in plastic containers at Starbucks.
In the course of our work, we order delivery food casually for our own convenience.
This project was an opportunity to think about my ambivalence.
When I did more research, I found that many environmental groups were hiding the truth about sustainability.
If you ask about the causes of environmental problems(such as ocean ecosystems, rainforests, global warming) to a non-governmental organization, Every Environmental group talks about reasons except the livestock industry.
Then, when asked about the livestock industry, the expressions of those who answered well changed. It was very interesting to me to see the change in their expression and attitude .
Environmental groups are similarly reluctant to comment on livestock and meat eating when talking about environmental issues.
I want to talk about the ambivalence of these environmental groups through my project.
-Why do they hide it??
1.They're doing business, and they need a fund
They need to create a lot of members to make donations.
People feel uncomfortable when they are opposed to meat and meat, and it is difficult to raise money.
2. The livestock industry, the dairy industry, is a global giant.
He's lobbying the government a lot.
They also make laws in their favor, and they can't be without an environmental impact.
The first step is to find organic, sustainable ways.
If we solve the animal problem first, we can solve the problem of greenhouse gas, food safety, and food shortage.
In addition, the important values of mankind will also find their place.
Human values such as compassion, sincerity, and kindness.
The natural values as human beings will be put into the production process.
Starting with this, people stop and ask themselves,
People are asking myself, before it eats his eggs, steak, chicken nuggets.
'Is that what I want? Maybe I want something else? ‘
The present life is not sustainable.
q. how can I show my concept through this project?
1. using Cubism-inspired contrass of angularity to express their ambivalence. (I can use mirror on design development process too)
2. using the lining of garment that i can show their attitude of hiding the truth
3. I can express someone in the back connected to a controlled someone like a marionette and chess game.
4. details or pattern cutting idea using the principle of making a play puppetry (moving function with string?)
5. I'll put the clothes on the wire and hang them up. as cconnecting various numbers of lines to different locations I can get shape idea from this experiment.
6.development by using the shape of hanging upside-down. (like the animal we eat)
